In 2014 Julian Cope asked Urthona if he'd like to record some music in the guise of Gennargentu, a character from Julian's then-forthcoming novel One Three One. A real-life album Urthona Plays Atlantis? followed, containing two long tracks of ambient skronk, and Neil subsequently performed five solo support slots for Julian as Atlantis?. The free-form sets of boggy axe racket tried the audiences' patience slightly, particularly at the Epstein Theatre in Liverpool.
Three of the shows were recorded:
1. Atlantis? Wedgewood Rooms, Southsea, Portsmouth 19/10/2014 (27:12). Soundboard recording. Tracks Played: Réppu, Breathing Instant Infinity (one of only two solo live performances of a track later included on the Urthona album Hearing Secret Harmonies).
2. Atlantis? The Globe, Cardiff 24/01/2015 (26:24). Tracks played: Réppu, Bruxo. Black Sheep's Big Nige introduces! A not-all-that-great Edirol recording, but probably the most fun Atlantis? gig, in front of an excellent, zonked and up-for-it audience.
3. Atlantis? The Engine Rooms, Southampton 30/04/2015 (26:00). Another Edirol recording. Big Nige introduces again. Tracks played: Réppu and an unexpectedly mellow take of Bruxo, an uncharacteristic end to the Atlantis? shows.
